About the editor:

Chiraranjan Paul is an active worker of people’s science movement since 1989. He was ex-general secretary of “Bharatiya Bijnan O Yuktibadi Samity” (Science and Rationalists’ Association of India).

At present he is working as one of the secretaries of “Bharater Manabatabadi Samity”, Chandannagar, (ভারতের মানবতাবাদী সমিতি, চন্দননগর), a voluntary organisation for people’s science and protection of human rights. He is one of the editors and publishers of Bengali rationalistic magazine মানবজমিন-“Manabjomin”, the organ of ‘Bharater Manabatabadi Samity’.

He wrote a good number of articles on people’s science, rationalism, human rights, politics and on different social issues published in various Bengali Little Magazines since the year 1990 such as “Utsa Manush”, “Ekhan Bisambad”, “Ekush Shataker Yuktibadi”, “Darpane Muktamon”, “Oncolink” etc. Columns and reportages on people’s science and rationalism were published in the Bengali newspapers like “Bangalok”, “Kalantatar” and “Ekdin”.

Published by Paschim Banga Khet Majoor Samity in the year 2008.

This book was acclaimed as a remarkable work in “Dainik Statesman” on 5th April, 2009 and “Amritalok” magazine on September, 2009. Mr. Rudradev Mitra wrote in the “Little mag” column of “Dainik Statesman” that the book “Tebhaga- Phire Dekha” may be reckoned as a collectable and a historical research paper to the students of History.

Published by “Sameeksha” in the year 2009.

This book is a field study report on forcible land acquisition and state atrocities in Singur. It was commended as a noteworthy work in “Dainik Statesman” on 14th June, 2009. Mr. Rudradev Mitra wrote in the “Little mag” column of “Dainik Statesman” that this field study is an outstanding work and he opined that the students of present generation especially engineering and management students should peruse this book to know the alarming truth behind the unlawful agreement of the Left Front Government with the big capitalist Tata.

An Interim Report on Mass Torture, Mass Rape and Mass Killing by the state police and left party goons in Nandigram on 14th March, 2007

Published by “Sameekshak Samannaya” (A group of NGOs and mass organisations) on 17th September, 2007.

This book was a fact finding report with case studies and statistical records published after a door-to-door survey in 13 mouzas of Nandigram worst affected by the massacre of 14th March, 2007. It was appreciated as a “sensational report” in “Dainik Statesman” on 18th September, 2007.

An excerpt of this survey report was published in the cover story titled “Massacre Raj in Nandigram” of CIVIL SOCIETY magazine of New Delhi on 2nd December, 2007.
